Big Changes for the Wharf Marina and DC's Wharf neighborhood

The Wharf neighborhood is arguably one of the best things about DC. The big news is, it’s getting even better. Any boater who knows the Wharf waterfront neighborhood will find that hard to believe, because it’s already DC’s most exciting neighborhood and a boater’s nirvana with the Wharf Marina right there too. It sits on a mile-long stretch of the Washington Channel of the Potomac River and is home to an impressive array of shops, restaurants, entertainment venues, and waterfront parks and piers that host regular free concerts and outdoor movies. The Wharf District never sleeps and is always changing, and right now the property and marina is undergoing some redevelopment to solidify itself as DC’s premier boating destination! We know you’re going to be amazed!

Let’s start with the world-class Wharf Marina perfectly situated in the center of the celebrated Wharf District. Convenient to DC’s most famous and beloved attractions, the marina is a destination for discriminating boaters from near and far. Even so, in April of 2022, the already amenity-packed marina is scheduled to unveil:

• 95 new docks plus additional alongside dockage

• A fuel dock offering gas and diesel

• A modern ship store with everything from apparel to beer, wine, and ice

• A well-appointed boater’s lounge

• Event space

• Spa-like showers

• Modern laundry facilities

• Expanded marina office

The marina’s goal has always been to have every departing boater looking forward to their next visit. And these newest improvements show that they are true to their word. If you’d like to learn more about the new slip construction and availability, just sign up HERE.

Step off the docks of the Wharf Marina and you step right into the energy and wonder that is District Wharf. And the transformations there are extraordinary.

Coined “The Wharf’s Phase 2”, there are big and beautiful changes to the Wharf neighborhood – also scheduled for completion in April 2022. Phase 2 will add more welcoming open spaces like parks and public areas to the District’s Southwest Waterfront – including a 1.5-acre park at the Marshall Park Landing. This will certainly shore up the area’s rich tradition of open-air events and concerts.

There will also be a whopping 1.15 million square feet of mixed-use space added to the waterfront area. This generous addition will be filled with a mix of hotel, office, residential,

parking and retail space. And with it will come boutiques and shops as well as unique dining and entertainment experiences for every interest, taste and wallet.

Yes, this spring will ring in big changes for the Wharf Marina and the DC waterfront. It just goes to show that you can make great things even better!
